Step-by-step to a commissioned portrait
Below is my guide to commissioning a one-of-a-kind portrait of your cherished pet, from initial contact to your doorstep. Please contact me if you have any queries.
Materials I use...
Each portrait is hand-drawn using professional, lightfast materials to ensure lasting quality and colour. I work with Faber-Castell Polychromos, Caran d’Ache Luminance, and Caran d’Ache Pablo pencils on 300gsm Fabriano Artistico HP paper, an acid-free, archival-quality paper designed for longevity.

How to commission a Pet Portrait
Join my waitlist
Message me to add you to my diary. There is typically a few month waiting period once you are on my list for a commission. These portraits are all unique and very special to create; I strongly believe in quality over quantity (I am also a one-woman show!), which is why there is a little bit of a wait, but I promise it's worth it!
Getting to know your pet
After joining my waitlist, I’ll send over a little form so I can learn more about you and your pet—I always love putting a story to the sweet faces I draw! There’s no rush to choose your photo or size yet; we’ll sort all of that, along with the booking fee, before I begin.
The drawing process
Once I have received your 25% booking fee (which is non-refundable), I will be ready to start! I am happy to help you decide on which photo may work best for a drawing, but if you have a favourite, be sure to let me know! At this stage, I will work closely with you to create your dream portrait of your pet, and if you would like, I can send you updates.
Pricing and sizes
Our pet portraits are available in various sizes to suit your preferences and budget:
One Pet
- Mini Portrait 6X6 inches, mounted to 8X8 inches £50.00
- A5, mounted to 8X6 inches £75.00
- 10X8ins Mounted to 12x10ins £100.00
Two Pets
- A4, mounted to 14x11inches £130.00
- 10X14inches, mounted to 16x12inches £160.00

Photo requirements
To create the perfect portrait, I need clear, high-quality reference photos. Please ensure your photos are:
- Taken straight, at around eye level – not from above.
- Taken in natural light – no flash or harsh shadows.
- Clear, and able to see details when zoomed in. The more detail I can see the more I can include in the artwork.
The better the photo, the better the portrait!
However, even if you don't have the perfect reference photo of a beloved pet that has sadly now past, it's still possible to create a beautiful and meaningful portrait that celebrates their memory so please get in touch and I will do my best to work with what you have.
Postage, Packaging & Delivery
I am based in Suffolk, England, free shipping available throughout the UK only.
For other countries I send the portrait fully tracked, I will let you know exactly how much prior to booking.
All artwork comes mounted and protected in a sturdy presentation box.
What else is included
Along with your portrait, you’ll receive a Certificate of Authenticity, an After Care Leaflet to help you look after your artwork, and a Thank You Note from me.
